Job Description

Covenant Classical is seeking a full-time mathematics teacher to instruct our advanced math sections in 6th grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade.

Classical schools emphasize a conceptual approach to teaching mathematics that pushes students beyond the manipulation of symbols to get answers and targets a deeper understanding of mathematical ideas and concepts.  This adds to our students’ mastery and enjoyment of this important subject.  In order to help our students grasp these ideas and concepts, the teacher must have mastered them in preparation to teach them.

The successful candidate will have a resonance with our classical and Christian philosophy of education, a teachable spirit, a readiness to work hard, and a love for Christ and students.

We welcome the successful candidate to our professional learning community of faculty committed to the school’s mission and one another’s personal and professional growth.  We are prepared to train and invest in the successful candidate’s growth to become a classical, Christian educator.

In the next several years, Covenant anticipates relocating to a permanent facility, doubling our grades of K-8, and adding grades 9-12.  Our vision is for a comprehensive Rhetoric school program (grades 9-12) with 40 students per grade so the opportunities for upper level math instruction will significantly multiply in coming years.  If being part of this unfolding vision resonates with you, we encourage you to inquire.

The position is full-time.  The compensation includes a salary and the benefits of top-tier health, dental, and vision insurance along with the opportunity participation in a 401K program with employer matching.

We encourage anyone interested in this position to send a current resume and cover letter to Dr. Tom Stoner, head of school, ([email protected]) to arrange a preliminary conversation.
