Working at Covenant

Covenant is seeking a Director of Admissions. This is a part-time position with the potential to transition to full-time. The Director of Admissions serves as the primary face and voice of Covenant for prospective families and is responsible for guiding families through the enrollment process—from initial inquiry and campus tours to assessments and final enrollment. The ideal candidate will passionately articulate the value of a Christian and classical education, build meaningful relationships within the community, and drive enrollment growth.

Covenant Classical School is a non-denominational, Classical Christian school in Naperville, Illinois, accredited by the Society of Classical Learning. Qualifications

Spiritual alignment: A mature, visible Christian faith. Full agreement with the school's Statement of Faith, mission, and a commitment to active church involvement.

Educational philosophy: A strong understanding of, or an eagerness to learn and champion, Christian classical education as embodied at Covenant.

Professional experience: Experience in admissions, school administration, marketing, sales, or public relations is highly preferred.

Interpersonal skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional relational ability, empathy, and a high level of emotional intelligence.

Administrative skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable utilizing database systems, spreadsheet software, and digital communication tools.

Schedule flexibility: Primarily a daytime position, but must be willing to work occasional evenings or weekends for admissions events.

Job Description

Inquiry & Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all admissions inquiries (web, email, phone, and walk-ins).
  • Provide a warm, welcoming, and informative introduction to the school’s mission, culture, and classical curriculum.
  • Maintain regular, personalized follow-up with prospective families throughout the admissions lifecycle.

Tours & Admissions Events

  • Schedule, coordinate, and conduct engaging campus tours for prospective parents and students.
  • Plan and execute major admissions events, including Open Houses, Information Nights, and Preview Days.
  • Coordinate student “shadow days” to give prospective students a firsthand experience of our community.

Enrollment Process & Systems

  • Manage the school’s admissions software/database to track applicant data, status, and touchpoints.
  • Oversee the processing of applications, family interviews, student assessments, and enrollment agreements.
  • Collaborate with the Head of School and the admissions committee to review applicant files and make admissions decisions.

Outreach & Community Engagement

  • Partner with marketing and communications, as well administration, to develop admissions materials, brochures, and digital content.
  • Represent the school at local community events, preschools, and churches to build a robust referral network.
  • Engage current school families to foster a culture of hospitality and word-of-mouth advocacy.
